FAQs

WHAT IS A SOLAR POWER SYSTEM?

The solar power system is an alternative power supply system that helps in conversion of energy from sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaic (PV), indirectly using concentrated solar power or a combination.

WHAT MAKES UP THE SOLAR POWER SYSTEM?

The Inverter, battery and Solar panels

WHAT IS AN INVERTER?

An inverter is a machine that converts Direct Current (DC) from the battery into Alternate Current (AC) and then passes along to connected appliance(s)

WHAT ARE THE BRANDS OF PRODUCT WE PROMOTE?

Luminous and Genus

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT CAPACITY OF INVERTERS?

   850va, 900va, 1000va. 1.5kva, 2kva, 4kva, 5kva, 7kva, 10kva,15kva, 20kva, 30kva, 50kva

WHAT APPLIANCE CAN THE INVERTER POWER?

Smaller Appliances such as TV, Sound system, Bulbs, fans, blender etc. Bigger appliances such as refrigerator, washing machine, pumping machine, street solar lightening system, air conditioner, electric gate etc.

HOW LONG CAN THE INVERTER WORK FOR?

The duration of time the inverter will work is greatly determined the amount of battery power available and the loads on it. If the loads on it are reduced then the battery will be able to power the inverter for a longer time.

IS THERE ANY POSSIBILITY OF UPGRADE?

Yes, to enjoy a wider range of appliances on the inverter, its capacity can be increased to accommodate more load simply replacing the inverter with one of higher capacity.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN INVERTER AND GENERATOR?

An Inverter will convert DC into AC to help power various appliances connected to while the generator is an AC power source that supply AC power to AC loads; when there is power outage the inverter will automatically switch to battery power to provide power to the appliances connected to it, provided the inverter is on ON-mode

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE INVERTER SOLAR SYSTEM OVER GENERATORS?

  •    Low Cost of Maintenance
  • No Power Cut
  •             No Pollution
  •             Easy mode of Operation

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF BATTERY TO USE?

Wet cell (Tubular) and Dry cell (Flat Plate)

WHAT IS THE CAPACITY OF THE BATTERIES?

100ah, 150ah, 200ah, 220ah

WHAT IS THE BACK UP TIME FOR THE BATTERY?

  •             220ah-10hrs minimum depending on load output
  •             200ah-8hrs minimum depending on load output
  •             150ah-6hrs minimum depending on load output
  • WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF THE BATTERY
  •             Wet cell-4years
  •             Dry cell-2years

WHAT MAINTENANCE REQUIRED FOR THE BATTERY?

  • The Dry Cell also eferred to as SMF (Sealed maintenance Free) as the name implies does not required any maintenance.
  • The Wet Cell requires that the water level be checked periodically and if reduced, it is important to top up with distilled water.
  • Both battery terminals needs to be cleaned if there is sulphation
  • Apply petroleum jelly on the terminals
  • Avoid keeping the battery under direct sunlight

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF SOLAR PANELS?

  • Mono-crystalline and Poly-crystalline Solar panels

WHAT ARE THE CAPACITY OF THE SOLAR PANELS?

  •  150w, 200w, 250w, 270w, 300w, 320w

DIFFERENT BETWEEN MONO-CRYSTALLINE AND POLY-CRYSTALLINE SOLAR PANELS?

  • Mono-crystalline solar panels have a higher efficiency while the poly-crystalline panels have a reduced efficiency
  • Mono-crystalline solar panels have a higher heat tolerance while the poly-crystalline have a lower heat tolerance
  • Mono-crystalline solar panels perform better in low light conditions and a longer life span
  • Mono-crystalline solar panels are made from a single crystal of silicon while Poly-crystalline solar panels are made multiple crystal of silicon.

HOW MANY YEARS WARRANTY ARE ON THE PRODUCT?

  •             Inverter- 1 year
  •             Battery- 1 year
